Reading or changing "private data" on SIS-cards requires a "SAM card" (issued by "RIZIV/INAMI" to Mutuelles and to registered medical care providers).
This card can be "slotted" in each reader, but that requires an extensive administrative and security management process.
"SAMSERVER Mutuelles" is designed to centralize all "SAM management" through connecting card reader to a "remote server".
This has the added benefit of being able to use very cheap "one slot" card readers, where the terminal has a simple read "pass through" function to SISLIB and SAMSERVER.
"SAMSERVER Mutuelles" also allows for easy integration with internal and external "Web Services".
The electronic identity card is also supported.
